Last round of the year to bring sensational clashes
The final round of the year in the EHF Champions League Women 2024/25 will feature exciting rematches from round 7. Podravka Vegeta and CS Gloria 2018 BN aim to build on last week's wins and improve their standings. Krim Mercator Ljubljana travel to France with a new head coach, while CSM Bucuresti will try to conquer the court in Hungary.
In group B, the highlight is the Match of the Week between Brest Bretagne Handball and Odense, two teams tied on 10 points midway through the group phase.
We want to repeat the good game played at home and get a positive result in Denmark. We are expecting a tough match, but I trust that every player will give 100 per cent in this match.
We take the positives from the game with us and we just have to learn from what happened the last time! We know they are good at both ends of the pitch, so we have to turn it up a notch, both forward and backward.
It's going to be a wonderful match for us to play for a number of reasons. It's the last one of 2024, at home, with five former Metz players in the opposing team. We'll have to be at our very best if we want to claim the points.
The atmosphere after Sunday's game was not the best, but we are motivated for Saturday. We know that we were far from what we can give. There are a lot of things we need to improve. And we all know what we can do as individuals and what we can do as a team.
It is always special to play against the same team with only a week in between. We feel we have a lot of things to improve on from the last game and hope we can play better in this one. We are still developing one game at a time and we hope to finish the first part of the season with a win at home in front of our fantastic fans.
We're going to try and improve on everything we can from the first leg and keep the good things going. We held out for 50 minutes last week and we hope to hold out for the whole of Sunday's match. It's good to play the same team again a week later because the match will still be fresh in our minds.
Second game in eight days against Györ. We know where we had problems in Hungary and we will try to avoid them as much as possible to win at home another game in the EHF Champions League.
What we have to understand about the away game against Rapid is that it will be totally different to play with them at home. They can come strong in Sala Polivalenta with their fans and also the history there, and with Rapid players who look for revenge. I think it will be a really really tough away game, and they will make everything possible to take some points from us, because they have a bigger chance to take it at home.
