EHF Champions League
Kiel take first away win, extending Aalborg’s run of defeats
One week after a dominant 37:33 victory against HBC Nantes, THW Kiel put in another impressive performance - 30:26 at Aalborg Handbold was their first away victory in this Machineseeker EHF Champions League season. On the other side, Aalborg’s series of defeats was extended; since 6th October, the Danish runners-up are without a Champions League victory, and they have taken only one point from six matches, that being the draw in the first duel at Kiel. THW consolidate their fourth position with ten points now, three ahead of their sixth-ranked hosts, who remain on only one home win in the group phase.
For me it is always amazing to come back to Aalborg. I have an amazing feeling and I had three wonderful years here. It was a hard game, we came up here with a lot of respect. Aalborg is a strong team and we had a draw in the first leg and to come up here is always difficult.
