In the following weeks, our attention turns to the YAC competitions, as five such events are set to take place this summer: the Men’s 20 EHF EURO 2024 in Slovenia, Men’s 20 EHF Championship 2024 Kosovo, Men’s 18 EHF EURO 2024 in Montenegro and two Men’s 18 EHF Championship tournaments in Kosovo and Slovakia.
This year’s POTM events are focused on getting young players in touch with the RYT App and helping them understand this newly launched EHF product as a valuable source for their career development.
With the rise of new digital platforms and the popularisation of the game itself, handball careers have expanded beyond the court. Apart from taking care of their physical and mental well-being and getting accustomed to anti-doping and sports law, professional players now have to deal with new challenges beyond the sport, such as engaging in press and social media activities and self-managing a dual career. This is why the RYT App has been developed accordingly, becoming a must-have digital tool for rising stars.
The ‘Player of the Match’ workshops also aims to sensitise young male players to the necessity to keep up with the manifold demands of the steadily growing game of handball by systematically using the RYT App as their “personal game around the game trainer”. Current and former greats of the sport, the RYT Ambassadors will take part in this summer’s events to provide participants with insights regarding personal and professional development.
Participants have access to a wide variety of training sessions in the RYT App, as the platform offers 24 specialized sessions covering subjects such as dual career, mental fitness, media, anti-doping, sports law, and, brand-new, nutrition. Developed by a team comprising elite handball players and renowned experts, these sessions aim to equip aspiring athletes with strategies to navigate challenges across sports, education, and personal life.
Each micro-training session incorporates insights from high-level players, expert advice, instructional videos, articles, self-applicable techniques, practical drills, and quizzes. Designed to be completed within 10 to 15 minutes, these sessions seamlessly integrate into the schedules of young athletes.
By engaging in training sessions and honing their skills, young players accumulate tokens in the App, which can be used to gain exclusive access to “Ambassador Sessions“, virtual Q&As with some of the world’s best players.
