‘Livey‘ to broadcast EHF club competitions in Iceland
Right with the start of the European club handball season, OTT platform ‘Livey’ has become the new home of the EHF Champions League and the EHF European League in Iceland.
The agreement, brokered by EHF Marketing’s media partner Infront, includes all matches of the Machineseeker EHF Champions League, the ‘Match of the Week’ of the EHF Champions League Women and the matches of the EHF European League Men with participation of Icelandic teams in the 2024/25 season.
The deal also includes the broadcast of the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4 2025, the EHF FINAL4 Women 2025 and the EHF Finals 2025, the showpiece final weekend events of the three competitions.
In the EHF European League Men, Icelandic clubs Valur, winners of the EHF European Cup 2023/24, and FH Hafnarfjordur have reached the group matches of the competition, marking a historic as never before did two teams from the Nordic island qualify for that stage of the EHF European League.
They will play their first home matches in October when the group matches throw off across Europe.
Miguel Mateo, Director Content & Media Operations of EHF Marketing, said: “We welcome Livey as broadcast partner of the EHF Champions League and the EHF European League to the European handball family. The agreement is great news for all our fans in Iceland and marks a fantastic chance to further grow and increase the global visibility of our premium competitions.”
Guðjón Sveinsson, CEO & Founder at Livey, said: "We are very excited to start this partnership with the EHF club competitions and add the very best of handball to our growing content offering. Handball is a sport that is very close to the Icelandic nation's heart and we are happy to support further growth of the sport within the country."
