This is just one more special occasion on the fringes of this hot handball summer, some of our senior men’s and women’s teams are in France for the 2024 Olympic Games and European youth teams of both genders gather for wither European or World Championships, as well as beach handball.
As the European handball community commemorates this special anniversary, it also applauds the many noteworthy achievements of the IHF President. Over the past decades, the global development of handball has benefitted from Moustafa’s experiences as a player on both a club and national team level, an international referee, a national team coach, and an academic having led the IHF Commission of Coaching and Methods, before being successfully elected to assume the IHF Presidency in November 2000.
The significant impact of Moustafa’s leadership cannot be understated as the competence and experience he bestows plays an important role in all the major processes on an international level. Moreover, he has expertly steered handball from the international headquarters in Basel for almost 25 years and, after so many seasons dedicated to the betterment of handball, the decisions taken under his stewardship continue to stand the test of time.
So, as the IHF President celebrates and marks this special day in France at the Olympic handball competition in Paris, we wish Dr Moustafa a most memorable day!
