City of Budapest

Budapest is, with around 1.7 million inhabitants, not only the largest city in Hungary, but also the capital of the Central European country. Thanks to its history, the city has a lot to offer.

Budapest is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe. Many sights can be seen here, such as the Budapest Castle, former residence of the Hungarian kings, where different museums can be found today.

Already since 2014, Budapest has been the venue of the EHF FINAL4s. The best teams in European women club handball will continue to come to Hungary’s capital to fight for the title after the partnership was extended until 2024.

Papp Lászlo Budapest Sportaréna

The Papp Lászlo Budapest Sportaréna can accommodate up to 15.000 spectators. Since 2003, events of all kind have been held in this modern multifunctional arena. The arena itself is named after the Hungarian boxer and three-times Olympic boxing champion Papp Lászlo and is located together with other sport facilities such as the Hungarian national stadium “Puskás Ferenc Stadion” in a large area. The Papp Lászlo Budapest Sportaréna has been the venue of many international sport events.

The EHF FINAL4 has been held in the Papp Lászlo Budapest Sportaréna since 2014. Thousands of enthusiastic handball fans come here every year to support their teams and watch spectacular matches. Just how thrilling the events are, can be seen with a look at the last three finals. From 2017 to 2019, Györi Audi ETO KC won the title with a difference of only one goal. Twice, both times against HC Vardar, overtime had to be played to decide the champion.

This year the DELO EHF FINAL4 2021 will take place on 29/30 May 2021 at the Papp Lászlo Budapest Sportaréna. You can find more information about the event here.
