Last seats for the EHF European Cup Women round 3 secured

• due to the outstanding performance of their fantastic goalkeeper Iryna Yablonska-Bobal, last year’s runners-up Michalovce defeated Kreuzlingen and secured their spot in round 3; the experienced Ukrainian goalkeeper had a 57.58 per cent save efficiency and helped her team advance to round 3 with 54:43 on aggregate
• Tatjana Cinku was also incredible, as Zeleznicar’s goalkeeper showed the best efficiency of the weekend (62.96 per cent) and the Serbian team took over Stockerau 70:42 on aggregate
• Laeticia Petronie Ateba Engadi and Gabriela Pessoa Constantino played the leading role in Handball Erice’s victory over Cascada (41:27); the Italian team advanced to round 3 with 72:51 on aggregate
• Sevdanur Özkan did her best but could not save her team; the right back scored 19 goals in total, but Samadrexha was defeated by Colégio Gaia in one of the seven double-headers of the weekend; Samadrexha finished their campaign after the second leg, as Colégio Gaia advanced to the next round with 79:61 on aggregate
• previous champions Malaga Costa del Sol played confidently, defeated the Italian side Pontinia 31:22 and progressed to round 3 with 63:47 on aggregate
• Aneta Adzic was in top form, as she scored 11 goals for ZORK Jagodina and her team defeated RK Hadzici 32:19; in addition to Adzic, two other players managed to reach the same milestone on Sunday: Astou Ndiaye and Lana Pavicevic from KHF Istogu scored 11 goals each as well

Double happiness for Czech teams

DHC Slavia Praha played a very exciting match away in Slovenia, at ZRK Mlinotest Ajdovscina, as the key figure and the top scorer of the weekend marathon was the back player Simona Schreibmeierová. The 19-year-old scored 13 goals in the second leg, after an excellent performance on home court as well, when she scored 11 times. DHC Slavia Praha advanced to round 3 following two wins, with an aggregate score of 63:56.

The Czech club Hazena Kynzvart will also join national rivals Slavia Praha in round 3, after a convincing 30:23 win against another Slovenian team, ZRD Litija (62:45 on aggregate).

At the same time, two clubs from the Netherlands, Venéco VELO and Westfriesland SEW, had to say goodbye to the European campaign this weekend.
