Germany and Spain take YAC17 Beach EURO 2025 title

Spain was aiming for a double crown, but their dreams were shattered when Germany stepped onto the court of the men’s finals and sealed the deal with 2:0 (18:16, 19:15), powered by the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Bjarne Rollmann. 

In the women's final, Spain, on the other hand, delivered a masterclass first set against Norway, only to confirm their reign in the second set as well, finishing 2:0 (28:20, 17:14) to go back home with gold medals around their necks. 

Bronze medal matches went into the hands of the Czech team in men’s competition and the French in women’s competition after beating Hungary and Germany, respectively. 

Men’s competition

• Germany opened the match in fifth gear, powered by a great performance from their goalkeeper, Rollmann. Spain was looking for different solutions, but did not manage to break the strong German defence and in the end, they lost both sets with close margins
• In the bronze medal match, Czechia was victorious after a shootout in which Hungary had no solutions. The Hungarians won the first set, lost the second one by golden goal, which took an effect on them mentally, as they struggled in a shootout and Czechia took a 2:1 (20:23, 19:18, 7:2) win
• The top scorer of the men’s competition was Matous Khek with an extraordinary 159 points. The MVP award went into the hands of the German defence great, Bjarne Rollmann, with Spain’s Hugo Guerrero Diaz being awarded the MVP; the fair play award went to Croatia

Women’s competition

• If the men’s team struggled in the final to find solutions, the women’s team looked flawless on the court, opening the first set against Norway brilliantly. After 28:20 at the end of the first 10 minutes, they made sure the second one was won by them too, with 17:14
• The MVP of the women’s competition, Carlota Bravo Garcia, delivered a superb performance, securing 20 points for the Spanish side
• In the bronze medal match, France took home the shiny memorabilia after a 2:0 (19:18, 22:12) win against Germany
• The top scorer of the women’s competition was Jelena Mirkovic from Serbia with 141 points, the best goalkeeper award went to German young talent Milena Grimm and Petra Gudelj from Croatia was awarded the best defender; as in the men’s competition, the fair play went to Croatia
