Sunday evening could not have gone better for the Roganovic family, as the young Swede with Montenegrin roots, Nikola Roganovic, earned himself the most valuable player award. The son of former Montenegrin national team player Zoran Roganovic has shined throughout the entire tournament and has added a cherry on the top winning the gold medal and the MVP title. The newly crowned MVP Roganovic was also the best scorer of his team in the final, scoring six goals.
Denmark had to be satisfied with a silver medal, but just like at the Men's EHF EURO 2022, the Scandinavian country is the only one represented with two players in the All-star Team of the M18 EHF EURO. Goalkeeper Frederik Møller Wolff and right back Oskar Møller Jakobsen are returning home with a silver medal and the title of the best players in their positions.
The other back positions were taken by Dagur Árni Heimisson from Iceland and Djordje Drasko from Serbia. Heimisson was awarded as the centre back of the tournament after a heartbreaking loss against Hungary in the bronze medal match while Drasko took a left back position and finished sixth with the Serbian national team.
Germany's Bennet Strobel was named the line player of the tournament and Hungary's bronze medallist Maté Fazekas was awarded best defender.
On the wing positions, Spain continues to deliver with Hugo Vila López being named to the All-star Team on the right wing position. He takes over from the fellow Spaniard Unciti Gonzalez who was named to the same position at the M18 EURO in 2022. On the opposite side of the court, the second scorer of the tournament (65 goals) Yoni Peyrabout takes the left wing award for France.
The top scorer of the Men's 18 EHF EURO was Israel's Asaf Sharon who netted 79 times.
