Semi-finals set at YAC 17 EHF Beach Handball EURO

Germany, Hungary and Spain are represented in the semi-finals of both competitions. Croatia complete the lineup on the women's side, Norway on the men's side.

The full semi-final schedule for Sunday:

Women, 10:00 CEST:

• Germany vs Hungary
• Spain vs Croatia

Men, 11:00 CEST:

• Spain vs Hungary
• Germany vs Norway

The women's final is scheduled for 19:00 CEST, followed by the men's final at 20:00 CEST.

Men's 17 EHF Beach Handball EURO 2026

• Spain are back in the semi-finals after finishing each of the last three M17 EHF Beach Handball EUROs as the runners-up
• in the quarter-finals, Spain ended the medal hopes of Croatia, handing the hosts a 2:0 (30:26, 27:20) defeat
• in the race to yet another final appearance, Spain meet Hungary in the semi-finals — a repeat of the 2023 final, when Hungary won 2:0 and lifted the trophy
• on Saturday, Hungary rallied to beat 2025 bronze medallists Czechia 2:1 (26:30, 24:21, 7:4) in a tense quarter-final, a year after Czechia had won their 3/4 placement match in Alanya
• defending champions Germany advanced following a hard-fought 2:0 (14:13, 25:20) quarter-final win over France, who were hoping for their first-ever semi-final entry
• with this result, Germany kept their perfect record going as they are yet to drop a set in this tournament
• next up for the title holders are Norway, who earned their maiden semi-final berth seeing off Poland in two close sets — 2:0 (19:18, 25:22) — despite 22 points from Poland's Aleksander Sucharzewski

Women's 17 EHF Beach Handball EURO 2026

• Spain remain on course for the defence of their title from last year, but only after coming back from a set down in the quarter-finals and shrugging off France in a shootout: 2:1 (20:23, 33:25, 6:2)
• it was only the second set in seven matches that the title holders lost, after dropping a set against Czechia in the main round but winning all other games 2:0
• next up are hosts Croatia, who defeated last year's silver medallists Norway 2:0 (26:20, 22:18) in the quarter-finals, led by 22 points from Sara Vukelic
• Croatia also met Spain last Friday in the main round, a match Spain clearly won 2:0
• Germany suffered a narrow defeat against 2025 bronze medallists France in their preliminary round closer but have otherwise been on fire — including a 2:0 (26:14, 27:20) drubbing of Ukraine in the quarter-finals
• that result set up another clash with Hungary, the team Germany defeated in a tight main round match by the smallest of margins, 2:1
• Hungary reached the semi-finals after overcoming a second-set scare against Czechia: 2:1 (30:18, 15:17, 5:0)
• at W17 level, Germany previously won bronze once, in 2019, while Hungary have collected a gold (from 2021) and two silver medals
