Györ end Brest's perfect streak; Esbjerg, Ludwigsburg and Odense take wins
Team Esbjerg are now on a two-match winning streak, taking another victory against Vipers Kristiansand in the battle of the Nordic powerhouses, while Ludwigsburg beat Buducnost by an 11-goal margin.
Only two teams are still unbeaten this season in the EHF Champions League Women, Metz Handball and Györi Audi ETO KC, after Brest Bretagne Handball conceded a 35:34 loss against the reigning champions in a dramatic match.
Vipers played very well in spite off all the injuries they have. We had a good start, but we started to miss our chances in the latter part of the first half, and I think we could have had a bigger lead during that half, but Vipers have so much experience and they used that well.
It was a really good handball match. Unfortunately, we lost that game. We had our chances to turn it in our favour, but we could not. I am still very proud of my team because we fought a lot, we played well in defence, but we just missed our chances to score.
A difficult game for us against a very physically demanding team. In defence, we were not at the same level as in the last game against Györ. I tried to make a lot of changes, but we didn't stop the opponent's excellent attack, and there were also many errors in the attack.
This was an important game for us and we knew it would be difficult. We played well and showed that we are a better team.
It is a match where the defence is good in most of the game. I think we made too many mistakes in the offence, especially in the first half, but we did better and better and that was enough to win. I do think the teams where closer than the eight goals.
In the first half we fought very well and in the second half I think we fell a little bit and maybe we have too many mistakes in the offence.
Of course it is incredible, it is a very good performance. Last week we drew against Buducnost in a very tight match. Tonight the atmosphere was incredible, Brest are a very good team. Ending the week with this victory is something important.
When you watch Györ's matches they are always better in the first half than in the second. We came back into the match well. In the end we had the balls to win the match. I have a hard time seeing the negative in tonight's match. I see good attitudes and players who fought until the end.
