'Dare to Rise' featuring Danish star Mathias Gidsel

Have you ever wondered what being a DJ and playing handball have in common? At 25 years old, Mathias Gidsel has conquered almost all the trophies that a professional handball player can dream of — apart from winning the EHF European League with Füchse Berlin in 2023, he has also helped Denmark win two IHF World Championships and gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Now, the skillful right back is eyeing the Machineseeker EHF Champions League 2024/25 trophy at his second appearance in the competition and the first one for Füchse. In the latest 'Dare to Rise' episode, we get an exclusive look at the IHF World Handball Player and EHF Excellence Award winner as he deals with the pressure of playing against the top teams.

On the court, the Danish star is one of the most valuable players of the squad, helping his teammates in crucial times, but Gidsel has also opened up about another surprising responsibility he has inside the team.
